DTE Energy Co. operates as a diverse energy enterprise, dedicated to the development and oversight of various energy-related businesses and services. Its operations are structured across five primary divisions: Electric, Gas, DTE Vantage, Energy Trading, and Corporate and Other. The Electric segment is responsible for the generation, acquisition, distribution, and sale of electrical power to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers throughout southeastern Michigan. Meanwhile, the Gas segment manages the procurement, storage, transport, and delivery of natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial clients across Michigan, in addition to selling storage and transportation capacity. DTE Vantage focuses on initiatives that supply energy solutions and utility-type offerings to industrial, commercial, and institutional customers. This division also produces lower-emission fuels and markets electricity and pipeline-grade gas sourced from renewable energy ventures. The Energy Trading segment encompasses the company's marketing and trading activities within the energy sector. Finally, the Corporate and Other segment includes various holding company functions, manages specific non-utility debts and investments, and allocates resources to foster regional development and economic growth. Established in January 1995, the company maintains its corporate headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.
